ETHOS AND VALUES: Together, we believe that everyone at our school will Be Proud, Develop and Succeed. Woolston Community Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive school for children aged 4 to 11. We embrace all children and adults who teach and learn here. We foster a climate of mutual respect within our whole school community where everyone has rights and everyone has responsibilities.
Children at Woolston CP are well behaved, polite and work hard to create a positive environment in which to learn. We have a community of children who strive to do the right thing and go above and beyond what's expected, rather than simply conforming to the rules. Our philosophy is to support children to make their own moral judgements about right and wrong and we have lots of ways to praise and reward children for doing so.
We believe that our broad and balanced curriculum should develop both knowledge and skills; it should encourage independence, curiosity, creativity and resilience; produce collaborators, innovators, leaders. It should prepare children to be confident to take the next steps in their education. Our curriculum is based on Development Matters and The National Curriculum in England (2014).
In Owlets, we follow the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and the KS1 National Curriculum. At Woolston Community Primary School we believe that every child has the right to a broad and balanced education in a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment. Your children will enjoy exciting and enriching activities that provide a balanced and stimulating curriculum.
How do religious families and their communities practise their faith and what contributions does this make to society? Community Spirit - what being part of a community means, and about the varied institutions that support communities locally and nationally. If you require additional information relating to the curriculum please speak to your child's class teacher.
