Services
This group is for children 5 years and upwards who have never ridden before and is designed to provide good instruction in the basics. Riders will learn to halt, walk, trot, steer and carry out balancing exercises. Riders will also learn to walk and have occasional trots on grass and tracks out hacking whilst being led.
Thank you for choosing FFRS for your lessons. The following information is to help keep you and the ponies safe whilst you assist your child/or another rider in their beginner lessons and to and from the stables. Please ensure you have sturdy shoes which cover your toes - please feel free to borrow some of our boots.
We can supply gift vouchers for horse riding lessons or hacks for a friend or family member to the amount you would like to spend. Whether its a one time special ride for somebody who has always wanted to try riding, or a present for someone who rides with us already, we can offer a tailored voucher to suit.
If you wish to film your childrens lessons please book a private session within which to do this. Do not enter the stable block unless you are asked and if you arrive early for your lesson please remain in your car. Parents may view lessons from the side of the arenas, please do not leave the site whilst your child is having a lesson.
Two-hour sessions that include a one-hour riding session and participation in practical or theoretical pony grooming/care/quiz or games. Riders can choose their ponies (subject to availability/suitability). Social distancing practices will be in place as per current guidelines. Riders must bring their own hats/boots/gloves and whips, and suitable clothing for the weather, as well as any snack/drinks required.

Although I don’t ride here and would love to, the amount of things they have posted about the horses and ponies seem really fun to ride and really good activities, would love to ride here but no idea where it is and wouldn’t know how to get there if it’s far...the horses and ponies are always well looked after for what I’ve seen and seem really friendly

The livery is beautifully run, the staff super friendly, so supportive, helpful and very professional . I have had private lessons, group lessons with coffee morning and more and it’s great. Wouldn’t go anywhere else . I’m a returning rider after 25yrs with major confidence issues I’m progressing really well in all areas of riding but at my pace with much support from the qualified instructors. Thank you !
