The history of Towbars Direct goes back to 1972 when, Norcott Brook Garages Ltd was formed, and took over an existing garage repair and petrol station. Shortly afterwards we started specialising in trailers and towbars. In 1981 this had become a major part of the business, and it was decided to form a separate company - Norbrook Trailers Ltd was born.
Over the years the demand for do it yourself towbar kits had increased, and a mail order division under the name of Towbars Direct was formed. This specialises in high quality towbars at competitive prices from Tow-Trust Towbars, Westfalia Automotive, Witter Towing Systems, PCT Automotive, Bosal, Brink Towing Systems (formerly Thule), and others.

Many of our towbars are now offered as kit prices including the carriage, all prices for accessories on this website do not include carriage unless ordered with a towbar. We are located midway between Liverpool and Manchester, half a mile south of the M56 junction 10 on the A49. We our more than happy for you to pick up towbars from our premises. But please check availabilty and ask us to reserve your towbar before coming, as we wouldn't want you to have a wasted journey.

Purchased a detachable towbar for a 2014 Volvo XC60 R-Design. Service was superb, ordered one day here the next. Had it fitted by Hallam & Sutherns Saab & Volvo Specialists in Swadlincote Derbyshire. They said it was one of the best towbars they had fitted, that was not a genuine Volvo towbar. Also stated it was excellent quality and very good value at £238 with free postage.
Very pleased and would highly recommend this company. Nice friendly & helpful staff, nothing was to much trouble for them. Would use again

I took my 2019 volvo xc60 in and they have done a great job really helpful and informative. Great price wasn't the cheapest but was the only company out of the couple I rang who said their is a vehicle specific model which to me shown they dobt just throw anything on. I wanted the best one without going to volvo and paying £1200.they have done such a neat job you would think it was factory fitted. I would 100% recommend and use them again in the future.

Called these guys after purchasing a towbar from Their Ebay site as was stating payment pending. I was greeted with a warm, friendly welcome, My enquiry was quickly resolved, plus was advised on by pass relay would be required for My vehicle, I made payment over phone very easily, I was called back later in day as item had become out of stock & was given option of a other brand & same price. This was delivered next day, very good installation instructions so almost anyone could fit, fitted perfectly, very good quality.

I wasn't totally sure exactly what I required, to have a detachable towbar for my new citroen c4 picasso. The more research I did the more confused I became. The price just seemed to be going up and up.
I spoke to James at Towbars Direct, he was very helpful and extremely informative. 2 days later I had a complete kit of everything I needed, and at a very reasonable price. Having had it fitted at my local garage, were the owner commented on how good a quality the kit was, I believe I have saved approximately £150.
