Founded in 2006, our aim is to inspire our students to achieve their potential in performance, through learning from our excellent teachers and industry mentors in a safe and nurturing environment. Led by Principal and co-founder Rebecca Carrington and internationally recognised Estill voice coach James Grimsey, the team combine their experience from working within leading institutions and drama schools with their vision for excellence. The school is set apart by its caring approach, to developing the region's top talent and was the winner of the BTEC Showstopper Awards in 2018.

Inspirational full time theatre training for 16 - 18 year olds, led by expert coaches and industry professionals. Our teaching faculty has a reputation for training some of the UK's leading talent and we are dedicated as a school to creating an international reputation for nurturing outstanding young performers and theatre professionals to the next step in their training.
Arts1 Musical Theatre classes provide opportunities for young people to learn from the very best teachers in the industry and develop a range of skills in singing, dancing and acting whilst taking part in friendly and energetic classes. Arts1 provides a specialist programme of Musical Theatre classes for young people aged between 4 - 16 years.
The Acting programme at Arts1 has been developed to provide a training ground for young actors developing the range of performance skills a professional actor requires. The classes are in three levels providing a carefully designed programme to nurture creative and skilled actors. Company A introduces students to the core disciplines of physicality, improvisation and text.

I've been coming to Arts1 for about 6 years now. As an adult dancer, it's hard to find places that will accommodate beginners at a pace you can cope with. I've never regretted once signing up to Arts1, they are friendly, caring and look after their students 100%. I've made some great friends here and will continue on for as long as I can. It's not too expensive and it's worth every penny.

This morning I went to my first adults street dance. It was soo much fun! Everyone
is very friendly and makes you feel relaxed.
Learning a dance routine in steps at a pace that suits everyone. My face my have ended up pink and sweaty but it honestly didn't feel like a workout as it's just so much fun. The best kind of exercise.

Arts1 has helped me better my confidence and my skills in performance have improved dramatically in the short time I’ve been a sixth form student here, even the skills, like dance, that I had never previously done before. The staff are so wonderful and supportive, they create such a positive, welcoming environment where nobody feels as if they’re being judged. Would definitely recommend to anyone, it’s an amazing school for young performers which offers a bunch of incredible opportunities, I love it! :)

Arts1 is a brilliant school for those looking to enhance their vocational training in singing, acting and dancing. As a sixth form musical theatre student, I have been given great opportunities to network and progress my skills throughout the course. The level of teaching is expectional and the staff are dedicated, approachable and have the students interests at heart.

I would 100% recommend Arts1 to anyone with a passion for performing or looking to go into the industry. The training you receive here is at such a high level and incredibly well rounded, throughout my time here I have constantly been pushed outside my comfort zone in all areas by my teachers, and because of this I have improved more than I could have imagined!
The teachers and students are all so lovely, you always feel like you can go and talk to them if you need to. There is such a positive atmosphere in the building, and everyone conducts themselves very professionally.

Having been at this institution for the past 2 years I’ve been able to grow massively as a performer and a person. The training you receive is first class and the connections that Arts1 have are amazing and the help you get to move you onto the next level is second to none. An amazing institution with incredible teachers and staff, Arts1 has a warm and friendly environment where you feel safe to try new things and get involved with everything they do. My daughter attends a variety of classes here; all of which she loves! In the 18 months she has attended, I have seen both her skills and confidence grow considerably. She has also made many new friendships. The place is welcoming and the facilities are great too. Fantastic leadership and organisation coupled with excellent teaching and support makes for the best experience for pupils. We are so lucky to have such an outstanding provision in Milton Keynes!
