I have always had a passion for, and been involved in, antiques. I spent 12 years working in London at Portobello Market and then came back to Alnwick with a wealth of expertise. I pride myself at Alnwick Auctions with my laid back approach. Being a family business, we try to offer a more personal approach. We are always more than happy to help you with your queries and make your auction experience as enjoyable as possible. Because of this, vendors and buyers return time and time again.

Gram per gram yellow amber beads are more valuable than gold. This is a fact of which many are unaware since only recently they were worth very little. Bidding from China and Middle Eastern countries in particular has pushed up prices to a level undreamt of only 20 years ago. These strings of amber beads were sold for a total of 21,000.

Recently won a pen worth a few hundred pounds. They sent the pen in a jiffy envelope. Basically there was no protection for the precious pen from being bent. The postman shoved the pen through the letterbox using the stiffness of the pen really.
A little attention and common sense should've been applied and a cheap jewellery box or cardboard box or even an old spectacles box works really well to save a pen from being subject to lateral forces during transit.
Surprised to see how little the auction house cares once somethings sold and paid for. Poor show really, very disappointed.

Sold about 15-20 items in the September 2019 sale. The general experience was fine and all but one of the items sold, some online and some to the room, I'm glad online bidding is available here.
However, when it come to being paid for the items (30 days later) the process was not as smooth. Prior to the auction I downloaded the catalogue and created a list of my own items so that I could keep an eye on the sales on the day to see how things were going. During the sale I noted down the sale prices so that I had my own record and noted that one item failed to sell.

We put several items into their auctions. From beginning to end, the service, professionalism, helpfulness and competency was second to none. As result of Alnwick Auctions successful sales, we have put further items in their sale rooms. They sell in the auction room and of course globally online, ensuring maximum returns from your items. 5 star service!

Really good auction. The lots are well laid out and it is very easy to locate an item by its catalogue number when viewing. The auction itself is good humoured and relaxed and the porters are extremely helpful. Online bidding seems very well integrated and rarely holds up the proceedings.
Lots of great bargains to be had and well worth a visit. A great Sunday outing!

Blagburn, is a very rude idiot! I paid £40 for my "lot" to be delivered. When I contacted him, about non delivery, (because I was not in, not having been given ANY "Time Window") the "Fool" said, that "It was nothing to do with him", that he had "No Idea" who the "Courier" was, and told me to, "Piss Off"!
Be careful with this "So called" Auction House, they will take your money, for sending it to you, then, as far as their concerned, you can "Piss Off"!, if there are any problems. I now am looking at having to collect my "Lot", from the depot, a 100 mile, two hour, round trip, and an £18 fuel
