I began learning the piano at age 8 with private lessons. At 14 I attended the Northern School of Music junior school, in Manchester, where I gained my A.B.R.S.M. grade 8. I became a full time student of the Northern School aged 16. Two years later the school amalgamated with the Manchester College of Music and I became a student of the Royal Northern College of Music.
Here's what what you need for lessons. A tablet, smart phone or a web cam connected to your computer. The best position is to one side, so I can see the main central piano keys and the music, it's OK if the music isn't clear as I will also have a copy. There are various holders to help get the correct position, or just a chair and some books!
Steve has been teaching my 11 year old son Jason for over 3 years now and I can safely say that his enthusiasm, teaching ability, and sense of fun are second to none and lead to a Merit on Jason's grade 1 and 2 piano exams. Steve has a vast knowledge of music and manages to make every lesson interesting and fun.
