As well as offering counselling and psychotherapy to individual people, we are also specialists in couples counselling and family therapy. We also offer consultation and supervision for qualified therapists and therapists in training. Our aim is to engage with people as individuals, with their physical, emotional and spiritual selves and as people within a web of family and social networks.
We strive to provide a service that is sensitive to people's difference in terms of gender, race, culture, religion, sexuality, age, ability, etc. We strive to be a gay-affirmative practice and have extensive experience in offering counselling within the LGBTQI community. The Cliff Practice operates from a private house in Ovingdean.

Services
We can work with you individually or with you and a partner or with a family group. Sometimes just on for two sessions are enough to make a change. Sometimes we may work together for much longer. We're happy to reflexible and offer counselling that is suited to your particular issues and needs. If problems in your relationship or marriage are becoming hard to deal with, we can help you find a way to move forward.
From depression and anxiety, to issues of sexuality, addiction and bereavement, our psychotherapy sessions can guide you towards a positive resolution. You will be offered sessions which last between 50 minutes and one hour, usually on a weekly basis. We are qualified, experienced and registered with the leading counselling organisations in the UK.
Getting the family together to meet with a professional therapist can often help you find a way forward, whatever difficulties you are facing. We have many years of experience and training in providing family therapy. Obviously every family is different but if you feel that your family could benefit from this service, we'd be only too happy to help.
People who identify as LGBTQI face the same life issues as everyone else but sometimes its good to sort them out with a therapist whose own life, as well as their training and experience, helps them understand how those issues might look and feel.
There are also some issues that only LGBTQI people face, like sorting out your sexual identity, coming to terms with being the way you are or dealing with a world that doesn't always treat you as it should. At The Cliff Practice, you can work with a gay male therapist who has experience dealing with LGBTQI issues and in a practice that strives to be affirmative of LGBTQI identities.
