I have been interested in human biology, health and disease from a young age. I was a Red Cross cadet as a teenager and went on to study Biology at Imperial College London, gaining a First class B.Sc. (Hons) degree in 1994. I then studied for a Masters degree in Infectious Diseases at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School (now part of Imperial College London).

Reflexology is a wonderful treatment to help you de-stress, relax, feel brighter and sleep better; resulting in an improved sense of health and wellbeing. It's perfect for when you feel overwhelmed or exhausted by life as it requires nothing from you other than removing your shoes and socks and lying back on a reclining chair.
The thing about having good mental and emotional health is that we often don't appreciate that we have it until it slips (or dramatically dropkicks) away. And the past 18 months have certainly tested us to limit in every way possible, especially given that so much has been out of our control. Research from around the globe shows that depression and anxiety have dramatically increased as we all learn how best to deal with this new way of living.
Many of us have ongoing or chronic health conditions that can interfere with our daily lives and that worsen when we are under stress. Whilst reflexology does not claim to cure or alleviate these conditions, it can certainly help us to relax and improve our feelings of wellbeing and this in turn can help us cope with the pain and discomfort.
