Reflexology is believed to date back to Ancient Egypt, India and China. In 1913 Dr William Fitzgerald introduced this therapy to the West as 'Zone Therapy'. He noted that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zone. In the 1930's Eunice Ingham further developed this Zone Theory into what is now known as Reflexology.
The Bergman Method of Facial Reflexology works the same way as Foot Reflexology and is based on Zone Therapy, combined with Native American techniques and Asian body maps. The face's proximity to the brain is key to the effectiveness of manipulating Facial Reflex points which directly connect to the body's neuro-pathways.
In Spinal Reflexology simple pressure and balancing techniques are used to re-balance the body. A combination of light and firm pressure is applied to 12 Acu-points on either side of the spine. These Acu-points correspond to 12 Meridians and are known as the Back Transporting Points (BTP's). The Acu-points are places on the Meridians that when manipulated have a profound effect on the Qi flow in the whole of that Meridian.

Ear Candling or Thermo-Auricular Therapy is a soothing and relaxing treatment which can be used for a wide range of conditions associated with the ear, nose, throat and head. A light suction action (chimney effect) and the movement of the flame create a vibration of air in the ear canal. The warmth and the movement might dislodge excess wax that has build up in the ear.
