I teach a range of abilities, from nervous beginners, to those who are preparing for exams, auditions, competitions, GCSE and A level performance and entrance to university or music college. Whether your interest in piano is purely for leisure, or you have more professional aspirations, I am happy to hear from you on Dan@CheltenhamPianoLessons.co.uk or 07795-298903.
If you're interested in learning piano with me, you can find information on the website about my approach to music making, learning (including enjoyment, broad resources, and well thought out sequencing of ideas and experiences), and what you can gain from a one-off consultation lesson. You might also want to take a look at my resources page which I update with new links, videos and articles to help you in your piano playing.

Services
Enjoyment - This is most important. Music making and music learning should be enjoyable and interesting. Lessons should build confidence and motivation, and help the student learn to express themselves through the piano. This also means that lessons should be tailored to the needs and interests of the student, and you are encouraged to question, express your views, and play a role in setting the agenda for lessons.
Here you will find many interesting and useful website links, videos of myself performing at the piano and giving some general tips on playing. BBC Radio 3 - Radio 3 is an excellent service provided by the BBC that plays all kinds of classical music. The programmes are very interesting and highly informative - each week a 'composer of the week' is chosen where the composer's works are played and discussed by experts.
If you want to learn to read and write music then a good grounding in theory is important. Theory is already logically integrated into your piano lesson, however if you wish to take ABRSM exams above Grade 5 then you will need to have taken Grade 5 theory to demonstrate that you have a particular level of understanding.
