Our firm was founded by Charles Montanaro in 1991 with a vision to bring a different approach to SmallCap investing. We think of ourselves as an Oasis in the City. We ignore market noise and focus on identifying the highest quality businesses that we can own for the long-term. As long-term investors, we believe that sustainable investment returns come from the highest quality businesses.
We are a small team dedicated to Small & MidCap investing. We are passionate about what we do and work together with a sense of humour to deliver excellence for our clients. Laura graduated from the University of Kent with an undergraduate degree in Law. During her 3 years at Canterbury she volunteered at their Law Clinic and acted as Fundraising Officer for the Kent Law Campaign in her final year.

We manage two closed-ended Investment Trusts: "MUSCIT", our UK SmallCap Investment Trust, and "MESCT", our European SmallCap Investment Trust. The Trust aims to achieve capital appreciation by investing in small quoted companies listed on the London Stock Exchange, or traded on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), and to outperform its benchmark, the Numis Smaller Companies Index (excluding investment companies).
