1st Master Wall Ties
Wall ties are essential to the safety and stability of cavity walls. They are originally built-in as the walls are being constructed. Over time the ties can start to rust and need to be replaced by a professional to prevent failure. Does your home suffer with cracked brickwork? Does it have structural issues with masonry parting at wall-junctions?

Are you concerned about that bulging wall or those dreaded fractures that have appeared over the windows? Weathering and general wear over time can erode a building's mortar joints, allowing gaps to develop and the ingress of moisture. Water trapped within the joints has prospect to freeze in cold weather resulting in further damage.
Services
The Structural Masonry Restoration division of 1st Master Wall Ties specialises in strengthening and stabilisation a buildings superstructure; that is to say reinforcing the portion of the building that is above its foundations. Retro-fitting bed joint reinforcement systems to relieve stress concentrations and to support brickwork above openings.
Frost damage to brick walls is often a problem in porous masonry, particularly those that are exposed to wind-driven rain. Regular exposure to excessive moisture can result in water being absorbed into porous brickwork where it freezes at low temperatures. When water freezes and changes to ice, its volume swells by 9%.
Modern Methods for Repairing Old Buildings Maintenance, repair and refurbishment of historic and listed buildings often involves reconnecting parts of the structure that have moved and cracked. Long masonry drive pins have been used to stabilise some of the oldest building structures in Italy, some of the largest historic palaces in India and a number.
Russell and Kieran did and excellent job (hand re-pointing rather than injection filling which I felt would give a better more reliable finish). Weather proofing was completed on the last day once everything had time to dry out. Each day they arrived at the times they said they would and always cleaned up before leaving.
Wall Ties are metal strips or Bar made to span between the internal and external cavity walls and are essential in keeping a cavity wall strong and safe. Over time, existing wall ties can begin to rust and expand and as a result cause cracking or bowing on the external wall of the effected building.

Report
I spoke with Russell at 1st Master Wall Ties to see if he could help with a report on wall tie failure as requested by the lender's surveyor. Russell was very accommodating and arranged to inspect the property at short notice. He explained fully why there wasn't a wall tie issue while showing me evidence with his equipment of the existing wall ties. He was extremely helpful in getting an extensive report done for me for the lender. Russell is a a very knowledgeable, friendly person and I would highly recommend his firm.

Russell replaced all the wall ties, carried out damp work and re-pointed my run down terrace house in Southsea. The job they did was very professional and it was obvious that they take great pride in their work. Although the work can be messy the team always kept the house clean and tidy with the help of the dust extraction system they use. Overall a very friendly and helpful team I would recommend and definitely use again.
