I qualified as a solicitor in 1979 and following an early start in shipping law, specialised in private client work; in particular wills, trusts and probate. I was senior partner and head of a private client department for 20 years and have been a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) since 1994.
As an English Notary, my principal function is to authenticate documents that are to be used abroad so that anyone in the country where the document is to be used can be sure either that it has been properly signed and is legally binding, or that it is genuine. I also provide preparation of wills and estate planning services and am a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, with over 30 years' experience in this field.
For a simple private (non-business) transaction my charges are 70 for one person/document plus 10 for each additional person/document. For example, for two people with two documents to sign, the fee would be 90. For business and complex private transactions my charges are based on time: 130 per hour for individuals and 150 per hour for businesses.
