Services
Lunch and dinner are served in the main bistro and the small dining room. Ideally suited for a catch up with friends, a business lunch or to mark a family milestone. Our chefs have prepared seasonal menus using fresh ingredients and offering classic cuisine based on traditional and modern recipes. All ingredients are sourced locally when possible.
The Black Bull is a good base to enjoy some excellent Midlands golf courses. Sherwood Forest Golf Club, Notts Golf Club (Hollinwell) and Coxmoor golf Club are no more than a ten minute drive away and you could be teeing up at Lindrick within the hour. We are happy to make arrangements and book tee times for those wishing to stay with us and enjoy a golfing break.
The focus of the Black Bull revolves around local produce, from our range of real ales to the charcoal in the homemade mayonnaise, high quality local produce it at the centre of everything we offer. In order to offer the best of Nottinghamshire reared livestock, locally grown fresh produce and professionally crafted ale, we've chosen to work with great independent suppliers who share the same ethos for local quality.

Visited with friends who had recommended the Sunday lunch. We arrived before our friends & got a really warm welcome - the staff were all really friendly & bought out drinks over - there was an unexpected power… cut, but throughout they carried on serving drinks ;) The food was excellent & exceeded our expectations - I think the picture of my Sunday Roast says it all. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Had another fantastic meal here last night.
The food goes beyond standard gastropub fare; always an interesting twist or combination to be had and the presentation of the plates is excellent. Loved the duck main with chicory and plum sauces. The little pot of potato dauphines were a great touch and not something you see very often.
Staff are great, drink choices great too.
Just a great place with a good pub atmosphere to boot.

We visited with friends for lunch on Saturday and all of us were blown away by the service and quality of food. Initially we were a bit skeptical at the small menu, but once the food arrived it was evident why there was a limited choice. It was honestly like eating at a five star restaurant! everything and I mean everything was good to perfection and presented beautifully. Excellent from start to finsh! Highly recommend

We booked a room for 4 nights and what a great decision that was. The room was perfect, it was clean, well presented and with a view of the Old Village. The staff were all wonderful and helpful and a special thank you, to Chef Nathan, who prepares the best Eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. We highly recommend this establishment for short or long stays.

Visited for breakfast during our weekend away.
I had pancakes with creme fraiche and berries and the OH had the standard fried breakfast.
My pancakes were lovely - perfect amount of topping . OH loved his fry up - said the quality of the meat was brilliant, even for the 'standard' breakfast his plate was full of food! Great coffee. Fantastic prices. 2 breakfasts, 2 coffees and 2 orange juice came to about £20 !
Waitresses were really friendly and attentive too - thanks ladies! If we ever revisit the area we would come again!
