Single ply has been used in the UK for over 20 years. They are light weight, quick to install, cold applied, clean and with good life expectancy. We are pleased to be able to offer systems from many of the leading manufacturers. Hot melt is a relatively recent product in the UK and has certain advantages over other systems.
These include being a 'protected' system applied in an inverted roofing system, can be laid with zero falls, has 100% bond to the structure reducing water tracking below life expectancy. Fantastic architectural designs can be achieved from zinc, copper and stainless steel and the degree of workmanship expected is very high.

One of our completed projects is the roofing and cladding work carried out at Bristol Grammar School, we were instructed to carry out hot melt waterproof coverings by Permatec along with Resitrix single ply membrane. The single ply system comprised of Resitrix SKW EPDM membrane, over existing vapour control layer and a new layer of 120mm thick Kingspan TR27 insulation.
Urban Roof where employed by The Wood Group to renew the walkways of Clifton Suspension Bridge. The Bridge remained fully operational during all works that were undertake this also included works to the timber structure. The Bridge is an integral part of Bristol City and we are delighted to have been the contractors appointed to these works.
Morgan Lovell employed Urban Roof to carry out the installation of 1200 M of Sarnafil single ply membrane. As the contact period was short we decided the best way to carry out the works was to follow a mechanically fixed specification.
This comprised of a Sarnafil vapour control layer, 120mm thickness insulation boards which were mechanically fixed and finished off with S327-18EL membrane in lead grey to give a clean and polished finish to the roof.

The development on Newfoundland Road in Bristol is one of our favourite projects to date, its very interesting from an architects perspective due to the intricate angles and use of VMzinc in pigmento brown which allows the buildings to become integrated into their surroundings.
The use of coloured windows and original angles makes the newfoundland development a very interesting project and we are extremely proud to have secured the long strip roofing and cladding work.
