When Ramsbottom Cricket Club appeared on the cricketing scene in 1845, the Industrial Revolution had already gained a compelling momentum. Since the club was founded in 1845 there have been many milestones that have shaped the club you see today. Take a trip down our timeline. Get up to speed with all the latest news from Acre Bottom.
In 1864 the club established Acre Bottom as its playing home, playing home games against teams 'representing' Accrington and Manchester. In the following thirty years, prior to entry into league cricket, opponents were found in Edenfield, Bacup, Haslingden and Bury. The forebear of the Lancashire League.
Our aim with the Junior Foundation is to provide structured coaching and enjoyment of cricket to all, whilst also creating a pathway for those junior players who want to progress their skills and join the senior teams. Now with a dedicated women and girls section within the foundation, we are committed to making cricket accessible to all.
We joined the Lancashire League in 1892 and we are currently in the top division of the 1st team structure. The team also plays in the Worsley Cup competition. The 1st teams continue with the tradition of having a professional in the ranks, giving local amateurs the opportunity to play alongside and against high quality players.
Ramsbottom Cricket Club have a thriving Women's and Girl's section. Established in 2020 we are able to offer competitive and fun cricket for all ages. With over 40 active players and five L2 coaches dedicated just to women and girls cricket as well as a L3 trained coach on hand for women and girls only practice sessions, we are the go to club for women and girls cricket in the area.

Lovely club. You can come down and watch the lower teams for nothing. Enjoy a beer in the sun. If it's the 1st team you're after, then £4 will see you in to the members' area for the day to enjoy a lovely game of cricket. Or become a member and enjoy the bar all year round. Although Ramsbottom does offer a lot of competition in that area.
