Kemi's Pontcanna is a partnership between Kemi and son Patrick, with a passion for all things food. After several coffee shops around Cardiff they have been settled in Pontcanna since 2012. You can also support us by ordering a Gift Card for use once we're able to be out in the world again! Having worked previously with Volcano Coffee Works, based in brixton, Patrick jumped at the opportunity to work with them again.

Volcano's flagship epresso blend "Fullsteam", comprising of Pichanaki and Chanchamayo from Peru, is a unqiue example of how manipulating roast profiles can create depth and complexity in delicious espresso. We use locally sourced, fresh produce to create dishes in our signature style.

A stand-out independent cafe in a bright space with a lovely friendly vibe. Great for coffee, cake and tasty savory snacks and salads. What makes it really stand out is that most of the food is home-made, giving you really unusual, and often seasonal, flavours and combinations. The sheer range of cakes on offer is mind-blowing, and one of these days I'll get to try the spiced apple cider cake before it sells out! 🤞

Gosh what a find we came across this absolute gem of a coffee shop.staff lovely so chatty and helpful.lovely to meet pat and hear the story behind it.
Will make a visit again from Caldicot to visit here specially. Such an easy going relaxed vibe great cake and coffee

I had the all day breakfast wrap (£6.50) and added maple cured bacon (£2.50) with a cappuccino (£2), everything was perfect, the bacon is so tasty, I only wish they offered traditional breakfast and brunch staples like poached eggs on toast with the same bacon, that'd be immense

Great choice of food, most are vegetarian or vegan. Almost all the cakes are vegan and taste delicious! Coffee was really good and staff super friendly. Highly recommend.

As we walked by the wonderful smells brought us in. The host was incredibly helpful and accommodating for any type of dietary needs. I have to admit this is the first time that I had all vegetables for breakfast and the food was delicious and filling. My wife had a delicious fig quiche and I had a plate of all the different salads. The Carrots with homemade mango chutney was out of this world delicious. I recommend this place if you want a nice light meal and some delicious veg that tastes like you picked it from your own backyard. The atmosphere feels like Berkeley in the 90s and I was pleasantly
