We founded Urban Ground in 2011 to ensure we could get a great cup of coffee, after many years working in hospitality in London, where great coffee was everywhere. Back then, the specialty scene in Eastbourne was virtually non-existent so intrepid pioneers we became. The plan was to create a space that was similar to the awesome ones in the capital that were leading the 3rd wave with silky flat whites and delicious artisan sandwiches and cakes.
After 6 months of searching for a suitable site, we found a greengrocer who was retiring in Bolton Road, and 8 weeks later we opened the doors on our new venue. Our success and growth have been driven by our dedication to great customer service, exceptional coffee and delicious food served in a relaxed contemporary environment for the community.

Services
We currently have positions for experienced full time (35-40 hours per week) baristas, chefs and food prep. Chefs will be able to prepare a range of savoury and sweet foods, plan menus and order stock. Food prep team members will be making sandwiches front of house, taking orders and serving customers.

Trendy, urban style café that is a lovely blend of modern with a touch of traditional. Highly trained baristas produce consistently good coffee. Tasty light meals plus the familiar sandwiches and toasties freshly made with speciality breads. Add in delectable cakes, pastries and vegan options. Locally made and even the humble cheese toastie can be spiced up with kimchi or given a Italian pesto twist. Professional, friendly team to boot. Warning: You'll want to go back! :-)

My first visit, friends recommend meeting here. They advised me it serves the best coffee in town. Shame I'm not a coffee drinker! The hot chocolate was a great alternative.
Banana bread was absolutely delicious as apparently were the custard tarts. It had a lovely relaxed vibe and I'd definitely return to try one of those tarts myself!!😋
