Steven is most notably in the front of the shop where he has built up a rewarding reputation with all patients and campaigns tirelessly for the testing of children's eyes as he sees them as our future and feels that they are not being properly tested at schools and nurseries.
Prior to this, Steven was a professional football player listing East Stirlingshire, Ross County, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Gillingham, Livingston, Raith Rovers, Arbroath and East Fife as former clubs.He also played for Bo'ness United and Bonnyrig Rose Athletic and was formerly assistant manager at Arbroath and manager at Whitehill Welfare FC.

Free NHS Sight Test - sight tests are free for everyone, funded by NHS Scotland. Free NHS Low Vision Service - we work with the NHS to provide a low vision service for those are registered blind, partially sighted or width reduced vision. Free Home and Hospital Visits - if you are unfit to come into our practice, we will come to you.

We understand that glasses have now become more of a fashion accessory and, therefore, our well trained and knowledgeable staff offer expert advice on which frame highlights your best features and best suits your lens type.
Usually found in older adults which results in the loss of central vision due to damage of the central retina (the macular). It comes in two forms, dry and wet, and is a major cause of blindness in the elderly. Dry AMD is slower in progression and visual loss is mild, yet regular examinations will help reduce the transition to wet AMD.

I have been using this shop for seven years. Only once I ordered glasses from a major competitor, but wasn't happy with the slow service - so went back here for my next pair. I really like the range of frames here, even budget ones look good. This time I chose to go for one by Hugo Boss, but the price was very reasonable. Superb customer service, very quick turnaround. I can totally recommend this shop.

I have been here at various times for eye testing, buying glasses, and contacts. Great service, price, and products. Recommended without any reservations!
I'm especially happy with my Silhouette glasses. I got to choose a few styles that they ordered in for me, and then I picked the one I liked the most. The lens shape was copied from my previous, custom shape. As a student I got a generous discount. So I had quite a specific request, but they handled it to my full satisfaction, with speed and at a great price.
No reason not to support this local business when it's also just better than the competition

I love these opticians. They are not only excellent at what they do but are friendly and welcoming. They have a lovely range of frames at reasonable prices, they turn around orders quickly and efficiently. Hannah, the optician, also picked up that my previous prescription had been wrong and corrected it which means clearer views!

Caring, friendly and efficient. I lost my last pair of contact lenses the day before a big race. All flustered I popped into Opticians at Marchmont and provided with a friendly smile and a last minute set of lenses for my race. I've always heard good things about this place, and it definitely lived up to expectations.

I received such a helpful and professional service from The Opticians at Marchmont. They really helped me out in a desperate situation and couldn’t have been more kind and calm which is exactly what I needed. Highly recommend going to this opticians rather than a bigger high street name as they really go that extra mile not only for their private customers but for someone visiting Edinburgh needing some assistance with their contact lenses!
