Services
When it comes to choosing an optometry practice you want to know a little bit about the people you're going to be trusting with your most precious sense. Our owner Luke is a compassionate optician with over 20 years' experience caring for eyes. He enjoys all aspects of his work and is dedicated to delivering a first class optometry service to all those he sees: the elderly, young, old and new patients.
Our owner Luke Baker graduated from The University of Manchester with a BSc (Hons) in Optometry in 2000; in 2001 he then qualified to become an Optometrist. Luke went on to work for Dollond and Aitchison, Boots Opticians and Laser clinics before working for himself as a mobile optician and locum for the next couple of years.
34 year old Sarah Gracey-Shaw, a staff nurse from Bradford Royal Infirmary came to see us after seeing a local optician. She had been to visit him with a sudden change in prescription and was sent away with new glasses; however she was still struggling with her vision. Our optician Luke quickly identified that Sarah had classic symptoms of diabetes.
If you have an old pair of glasses lying around, why not change someone's life with them?. He joined the charity in the impoverished Kerugoya area where he delivered eye care and spectacles to those who needed it. Whilst on his trip Luke joined others offering vital health care from a medical camp that was set up and run from a local church for just three days.
Symptoms of eyestrain can include headaches, blurred vision and burning and/or tired eyes. If left uncorrected, eye strain can lead to inefficient performance in the workplace and in certain cases, employees needing time off work. At City Eyewear Opticians we offer a complete corporate eye care package.
