Services
Central Avenue Surgery serves the towns of Ardrossan, Saltcoats, Stevenston, Seamill, and West Kilbride. We offer a full general practice service and run clinics by appointment. At our medical practice, we aim to treat all patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. On occasion, we may have student nurses undertaking training within the practice.
The Midwife will attend to the needs of expectant and newly delivered mothers and their babies. Laura Muir is our Practice Midwife and she runs antenatal clinics at the Practice on a Friday morning by appointment. She can be contacted on 01294 465104 outwith her clinic times. Health Visitors also offer advice and support on all health issues for pre-school children.
The reception staff are members of the practice team and it has been agreed they should ask patients "why they need to be seen".
It is not a case of the receptionist being nosey, they are there to help you and anything you tell them will be treated in absolute confidence and will be pleased to help with matters such as appointments, messages to and from the Doctors, Doctors' comments on test results, and advise on which clinic or professional you should see.

This practice handles medical records according to the laws on data protection and confidentiality. We share medical records with health professionals who are involved in providing you with care and treatment. This is on a need to know basis and event by event. Some of your data is automatically copied to the Shared Care Summary Record/ECS (Scotland, etc).
We are using eConsult as our primary contact. We ask that you use this as your first point of contact and it is available Monday- Friday 8am-7pm but not on Public Holidays. No face to face booking of appointments is available unless a Clinician has invited you to attend the surgery. There will be a small number of routine telephone appointments available when we are fully staffed.

Utterly disappointed with this health centre today. Been extremely unwell for over a week now. I hate to waste the practice’s time but due to my condition I was required to phone to get an appointment. I phoned today (17/9/21) at 16:00 and was told via voice message that the practice was shut and their closing time on a Friday is 17:30.
Is their clock out of sync? How many unwell people phoned within this time? How many elderly people are going to miss out on a prescription?
Clearly the receptionists are too busy to actually do their job and answer the phone.
Such a shame for what is usually
