Mellers Primary School
Each meeting took place on Teams, the discussions were positive and productive and staff were able to share the children's work. In all subjects, staff and children have worked exceptionally hard during challenging times. I have just completed safeguarding training organised by Mellers Primary School and delivered by Andrew Hall, a specialist safeguarding consultant.

The training offered lots of comprehensive insights into the subject and more so, the role of a safeguarding governor. It gave more understanding of how safeguarding governors can work better with Designated Safeguarding Leads and. During monitoring week, I met with Kiran Dhanjal the RSHE lead. This year at Mellers, we have had a big focus on the wellbeing of children, staff and the wider community.
Services
Mellers is a city primary school for pupils aged from 3-11 years. We have a 52 place nursery with full-time and part-time places; there are two classes in every year group, and the demand for places at our school is very high: we're oversubscribed in most year groups.

At Mellers, we want to give your child an education of the highest standard; we aim for excellence in all our school activities and encourage all children, whatever their ability, to achieve the best they possibly can.We all feel that Mellers is an extraordinary, unique school, 'an oasis at the heart of the community' in which everyone strives to ensure that we all have every opportunity to be the best that we can be.
Where do I take my children to, and collect them from? Please escort your child to their classroom door by 8.40am, and collect them from the same at 3.15pm. Parents should not use the reception door for collection of children at the end of the school day. Do you offer after school care? Yes, parents can pay 7.00 per day for afterschool Childcare Club (Kidzklub) from 3.15 - 5.30pm.
Mellers is a unique and extraordinary school. The governing body has a vision for exceptional progress for all children, irrespective of starting point, through inspirational teaching and leadership. Children will be enabled to be resilient learners in a culture where there is no stereotyping of expectations and in a safe, nurturing environment.
Mellers is actively involved in a number of partnerships. We are a national support school (NSS) and Amanda Dawson is a national leader of education (NLE), so we support a number of other schools. In addition, we are members of both the Transform Teaching Schools' Alliance, with whom we offer Schools Direct initial teacher training, and the Nottingham Schools Trust.
We take a whole school staff approach to safeguarding the pupils here at Mellers, and you can find details of our safeguarding team and our Child Safeguarding Policy here. We have a professional and personal duty and responsibility to ensure that all our children and adults are safe and happy at Mellers.

Really good school, since my daughter started I have notice a positive change in her attitude towards schooling. She been involved in variety of school projects and now enjoys coming to school. This school has allowed her to express her creativity, which she never was able to do at her old school .
