Services
A warm welcome assured, great horses and ponies, spectacular scenery looking out over the Welsh Border. Established in 1975 Bryngwyn Riding Centre is a family run, friendly riding stables on the Powys/Herefordshire border. We offer horse riding and riding lessons whether you are a total beginner, novice or experienced rider.
We offer riding lessons from 6+yrs for all abilities from beginners to those looking to get back in the saddle after a break. The riding lessons help you build confidence and improve your riding skills in a relaxed informal atmosphere, where the emphasis is on enjoyment. Our horses and ponies are well mannered and sensible, and vary in size and type to suit the complete novice, as well as the accomplished horse rider.
Set on the edge of The Welsh Marches, we are in a relatively undiscovered area of high moorland, providing some of the best riding country to be found in Wales and only 6 miles from Hay on Wye, 10 miles from Kington and 15 miles from Builth Wells. Our horses and ponies are well mannered and sensible, and vary in size and type to suit the complete novice, as well as the accomplished horse rider.
We aim to develop skills and provide an enjoyable riding experience for people with special needs, in partnership with Bryngwyn Riding Centre. Carefully planned riding sessions for children and adults running on alternative Thursdays and Saturdays with Midweek riding by arrangement. Bryngwyn Riding for the Disabled Group serves the community of mid-Wales and Herefordshire borders.
Drop in pony care and riding sessions in the holidays. See the What's On page for dates. Pony mornings run once a week throughout the holidays. They consist of grooming, painting/decorating the ponies, riding and we normally teach children about one pony care topic. Pony Mornings run from 10am-12:30pm and cost 30 but if you have two or more children it'll cost 20 each.

The grooms and owner were really polite, horses well cared for and I had a lovely one hour guided ride around the hills, the scenery was beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would reccomend to anyone in the area to book, well worth the money Joan Barr

A lovely member of staff took us out on a hack and gave us some helpful tips about horse riding.
One of us was a beginner and the other was more experienced. At times of difficulty the leader put the beginners horse on a rope so it was more well behaved - so if you have never rode a horse before don't be worried about booking this place! Would fully reccomend. Helmets and wellies provided.

My Daughter has been riding here for years. Becky, the other instructors and staff are extremely experienced and always go out of their way to help. Bryngwyn provides riding lessons to people of all ages and abilities to a very high standard whilst being friendly and supportive.
Hacking out from Bryngwyn is wonderful. Whether you are a novice or have been in the saddle for years there will be a horse or pony to suit and within minutes you can be riding out on to the Welsh hills. The views here are truely breath taking whatever the weather!

Brilliant riding school, one of the best I've used. Horses are very well cared for, outdoor school is a good size and has a decent surface. The riding available for hacks is just wonderful - Welsh countryside at its best! Becky and team make you feel so welcome, and they make a great cup of tea too :-) Accepts all major credit and debit cards, takes bookings over phone and email.

Great place for all levels of riding ability. Also, all age groups welcomed. Hack straight out onto the Brecons with the stable's qualified and very experienced staff/instructors (all year round). There is also an outdoor sand school for those either wanting to learn to ride or brush up on their existing skills. Worth every penny!
