Now that Autumn is on it's way, we turn our attention to our homeware collections and, in particular, some beautiful vintage soft furnishings. We have a new collection of pure wool rugs, vibrant patchwork quilts and Kantha blankets, Chinese Indigo and vintage linen runners, all available from our online shop. This Mud Cloth is fast becoming one of our best sellers, and producing this fabric is a real labour of love.
Services
The idea for Cloth House was born from a back ground in fashion, art, retail and a love of textiles. When we started out we found a lovely old house in Camden Town which was converted into a warehouse space and from that day became our Cloth House. Starting just in one room, we began collecting buying and selling, choosing cloth that resonated with us and following our natural instinct.
We stock a huge variety of natural fabrics, from handwoven and handprinted cotton, washed linen, workwear denim and vintage haberdashery to organic and naturally dyed fabrics. We go to great lengths find interesting fabrics, natural fibres and vintage textiles, working closely with local textile traders and artisans and upholding traditional skills.
Our new studio shop is in Camden. We're a 7 minute walk from Camden Town tube station or a 3 minute walk from Camden Road overground station. Kings Cross station is a 20 minute walk and you can come via the Regent's Canal towpath (exit Kings Cross via King's Boulevard and Granary Square.) There are lots of new cycle paths around Camden and we have one passing the shop.
We have a larger selection of fabrics available in the studio, as well as vintage textiles, homewares, haberdashery and buttons. Camden is a working studio where we process deliveries, fulfil online orders and develop our fabric ranges and is therefore open by appointment only. If you are shopping for fabrics from the online shop, they may be online exclusives, in which case please buy online and contact us about click & collect.

Extremely rude staff. Travelled for half an hour yesterday to visit the store only to find out the store is open only for appointments. I was told then the earliest appointment I can book is on Wednesday this week. Gave them a ring today and was told I can't book anything until September because there wasn't enough staff at the moment "to accommodate people browsing" (even though I was clearly looking to buy and not just randomly stopping by)! Discriminatory and put me off from visiting the store altogether.

The fabric selection is wonderful and beautifully displayed. However, the customer service is dreadful. The sale woman was speaking at length to her friends about her mother's latest diet and couldn't be bothered to show me where to find what I was looking for. It's so ironic that posted on one of the walls in the shop is a statement about customer service.

I always try to pop into Cloth House when in Soho! Soho’s changed so much since my 30 years of working in various Animation studios there, I love that there are still some old style independent shops selling beautiful individual things... Cloth House is the top of the list! Beautiful stuff and friendly people 💗

I come to London pretty regularly and always walk by this shop and think "next time I'm going to go in and check it out". Well, the next time finally happened and I went in and I can't believe I waited so long! They have an amazing selection of fabric at reasonable prices. I brought a few meters back to the states with me to make some unique pieces and I can't wait to visit them again soon!

I'm not quite sure how a fabric shop can manage to be a little bit hipster, in a twee kind of way, but this place does.
Berwick street is teaming with fabric shops, and this one definitely has a good range. Mostly natural fabrics, and delicious trims.
You will want all of them, but, you quite possibly won't be able to afford all of them. This place is pretty expensive, it's really great for inspiration, and then making you feel sad that you can't make the really amazingly random things you've just imagined up out of the blue.
The staff are lovely, and it's well

The shop was so busy, and not without reason. However as a beginner to sewing I did find it a bit daunting in such a small space without being able to ask any of the assistants for help. There were about 3 or 4 assistants to 15 or 20 people so I didn't feel like I could. I think I visited on a Saturday though, so I'm sure if you went on a weekday you'd have an easier experience. But the range is brilliant, and they have the most interesting collection on fabrics I have so far found, both cheap and expensive, and there are a range of modern patterns which is hard to find.

I was incredibly surprised upon walking into this amazing shop.
Cloth House seems to have anything and everything a budding (or professional) creative, and the selection had me pointing at everything with thoughts of my becoming Martha Stewart.
The layout is comforting and easy to understand. If any of you have been to a shop hunting for buttons, lace, cloth, string, ribbons, etc you will remember the sense of fear when you realise you must discover the random system of sorting.
Cloth house has employees who know their stuff and love what they do, a rare sight.

This place is so quaint - just looking from the outside, you don't think a fabric store could ever be this lovely, this darling, this sweet... if you have any remote interest in fabric, you know you have to go in.
Inside are hardwood floors that look like they've been there forever, and on the wall to your right are trims and buttons that look like they could be pieces of artwork... ribbons from India, and Russia, and Italy... buttons - antique, metal, delicate, made of shell.
So many wonderful trims! You start picking out things even though you have no idea what you're going

Next to the mother Cloth House based at 98 Berwick Street, more towards Oxford Street you will find all the cottons and weave of Cloth House 47. The shop is fresh and bright and always has an original display.
Unlike to the other Cloth House on Berwick street, there I am always nicely welcomed. Of course the prices are nothing comparable what you could bargain for in Shepherds Bush. However, you know exactly what content the fabric is and you have a deep as well as wide selection.
If you wonder what the big brown paper bags with the art deco face on it is - the brand mark of Cloth House unmistakable
