Pet Lodge Boarding Kennels & Hydro

In 2002 we decided to realise our dream of owning and running a quality boarding kennels so set about the task of looking at every kennel in Kent that was up for sale at the time. Our only criteria was that it should be "a business where we would be happy to place our own dogs". After two years of looking and not finding anything suitable, we came across Bogshole Farm in Whitstable.

Pet Lodge has 4 blocks of 10 kennels, an isolation block of 3 and are fully licenced by Canterbury City Council. Every Kennel is larger than the minimum requirement which means they are all large enough to cater for two medium / large size dogs. All kennels have their own individual covered runs of which we have four that have extra large runs and sleeping areas to accomodate very large breeds or multiple dogs from the same family.

Adrian opens up all the kennels early in the morning by greeting our guests with their breakfast. This allows the dogs to digest their food before the staff arrive and take the dogs out for the first of their daily walks/exercise. After the morning walks, the staff commence the cleaning process.

We take great pride in the cleanliness of our kennel buildings and many customers have commented on how clean and nice smelling everything is - no matter when they arrive.Before lunchtime is the washing up and the afternoon food preparation. The afternoon is taken up with more walks, and checking that our guests are happy before the late afternoon feed is given.

There are a number of dried complete feeds on the market and due to the sheer volume of choice it is not possible to offer every make and range. However, we do offer our guests the quality complete range of Beta (Puppy, Adult Lamb & Rice, Adult Chicken, Sensitive, etc) and along with this Bakers Complete and Pedigree Chum Complete.

We are happy to administer all forms of medication - by either ointment, tablet, powder, drops or injection. At Pet Lodge, we use a system which records and lists all our guests medication requirements. Upon arrival, previous historical information is updated and the system then produces a medication chart, which we ask the owner to sign.
