Home Vet Nurse is a mobile veterinary nursing service based in Ayrshire, providing a personalised and affordable service for you and your pets. Established in 2012 by Rachael Dixon, herself an experienced veterinary nurse, Home Vet Nurse provides a variety of outreach services tailored to meet your needs.
Rachael Dixon (VN Dip CABT) is a qualified veterinary nurse who has worked in veterinary practice for over 20 years. She has an A1 Assessor certificate and Advanced Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Therapy. Rachael also has a certificate in Pet Health Counselling awarded by Royal Canin so is suitably qualified to advise on all nutritional requirements and life stages for your pet.

Home Vet Nurse is a new and dynamic business established by Rachael Dixon in 2012 with a view to providing animal lovers with a wide range of related services for their pets. With over twenty years experience in veterinary practice and a variety of qualifications to her name, Rachael is suitably qualified and experienced to assist with all forms of pet care.
Home Vet Nurse offers a range of services designed to maintain the health and wellbeing of pets including dogs, cats, rabbits and birds among many others. The company also offers services to help actual pet owners such as dog walking and pet sitting to help them balance their busy schedules. In short, Home Vet Nurse can assist with all elements of pet care to help both the animals themselves and indeed their owners.
Please note: Home Vet Nurse is not a vet so you will need to be registered with a veterinary practice. Home Vet Nurse cannot diagnose illness or injury nor dispense medication. This is an outpatient service, any medications or materials will need to be provided by the client. Rachael is very helpful and professional and she is able to give valuable advice on the care of my two dogs, Storm and Drift.

Rachael came to clip my rabbits nails as I couldn’t take him to the vets due to COVID. My rabbit felt very relaxed and calm with Rachael. She was very professional and her service is such great value for money. I can now say that I will no longer be causing my rabbit any distress by taking him to the vets to get his nails clipped... I will be calling Home Vet Nurse! Can’t recommend this lovely lady highly enough!

Rachael provides a fantastic dog walking service. Both my dogs head off on great adventures with other dogs which you can watch later on Instagram stories. This is another bonus seeing them having fun in the different environments she takes them to. Highly recommended as your dogs are really cared for.
