Breaking Strain Events
We are Breaking Strain Events, an event management company based in Scotland but operating globally. Our team specialise in the delivery of races, corporate and charity challenges and overseas treks as well as epic bespoke events. While some of our activities facilitate mass-participation, others benefit from intimate wilderness settings.

Due to our passion for exploration and avid sense of adventure, our doors are always open to fresh ideas. Therefore, be sure to share your outdoor stories with us and most of all - let us know what challenge is on your bucket list! A gnarly duathlon, a leg-burning cycle, a scenic hike, or an action packed team-building challenge.
Services
We're not world class athletes, we're not PhD-qualified sports gurus, and we're not as young as we used to be (with hairlines to prove it). But what the Breaking Strain Events team DOES have to offer is years of experience in event management, charity fundraising, expedition planning and logistical support for some gnarly challenges.
We're an event management company based in Edinburgh, but we'll go wherever adventure calls. How do we work? Firstly, we are ISO 9001:2015 certified to ensure impeccable standards across our events. Secondly, we conduct a 'take only photographs, leave only footprints' policy, to maximise sustainability and environmental protection.
January - March each year. On this unique challenge you will head to Rovaniemi in Finland and spend three days trekking into the Arctic Circle. This Arctic trek is not for the faint hearted, pulling all your equipment in a pulk, battling the elements and sleeping in tents. Summer each year. A proper Alpine adventure.
On this unique challenge you will head to Rovaniemi in Finland and spend three days trekking into the Arctic Circle. This Arctic trek is not for the faint hearted. You'll be pulling all of your own kit in a pulk, battling against the elements, and sleeping in tents. Regardless, we consistently receive feedback that it's "the best challenge ever".
Challenge yourself to the Alps Trek and explore what lies below the peak of Mont Blanc, through some of Europe's most exquisite mountainscapes. Your limits will be pushed for 4 days on the trot, as you cover approximately 60km of trails. Roll through various valleys throughout the days and spend your evenings in quaint Alpine villages, including Chamonix, Champex and La Fouly.

Lee and the team at Breaking Strain Events are amazing. Having recently returned from one of the Arctic Treks I can honestly say they are the best, they are safety experts, local guides, motivators and above all exceptionally nice people!! Lee and the team at BSE looked after us from the moment we signed up for the trek to the moment we waved goodbye to come home. The professionalism and knowledge from all the team was outstanding and we all felt very safe knowing we were being looked after by the best in the business.
I can’t recommend the team at BSE highly enough.

Having started the process of a charity Arctic Wish Trek back in 2017 and signing up for the trek myself and successfully completing it in temps of -40 just this week the journey with the team at Breaking Strain Events has been a life experience for all involved.
Meeting Lee & his incredible team you instantly warm to their enthusiasm to a life and love of adventure and their passion for what Breaking Strain Events is all about and what they strive to achieve from not only their incredible events but their mission of challenging people to explore the world outside their comfort zone.

These guys are absolutely amazing at what they do. They made our arctic trek an experience to remember for life. Not only Les and Lee out on the trail itself, where they work as guides, motivators, comedians and sometimes therapists😂 but Neil and Jo who work tirelessly behind the scenes to set up camp and make sure everyone is fed and warm. The amount of work that goes into organising and pulling off these amazing treks is crazy and these guys all have my lifelong gratitude.
I could not recommend them enough 💚
