In our History curriculum we strive to create opportunities for children to gain a knowledge and understanding of Britain's past and that of the wider world. Our aim is to inspire pupils' curiosity to know more about the past and equip them to ask perceptive questions. We also challenge them to think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments, and develop perspective and judgement.
In this way they develop an understanding of the complexities of people's lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups, as well as their own identity and the challenges of their time. We ensure that our History teaching makes links and connections with other areas of the curriculum.

Oak National Academy has launched it's online classroom and resource hub. The Academy offers 180 video lessons each week for schools to use, across a broad range of subjects. The lessons cover children in Reception through to Year 10 and are free to use by both teachers and young people. Occasionally we will use this site as part of the lessons detailed in your paper packs.
Pupil premium grant is additional funding, from the government, allocated to schools to ensure that children from low income families benefit from the same opportunities as their peers. Research has shown that children from deprived backgrounds do not achieve as well as those from less deprived families.
At St Andrew's C of E Primary, we strive to support all children to enable them to achieve. We are committed to the inclusion of all children. We believe that all teachers are teachers of pupils with SEND. We believe every child should have the opportunity to participate to the best of their ability and be integrated into the everyday life of the school.
It is a very important part of life at St. Andrew's that we recognise every individual at school and provide opportunities for all. In accordance with our Equality Policy we are committed to providing a school where we do not tolerate any form of bullying, intimidation or discrimination. We have clear guidelines in place for dealing with such incidents.
