Woodberry Day Nursery Fawley
Woodberry Day Nursery's purpose is to create a happy and secure environment in which all children are supported to realise and develop their own special abilities and an awareness of the needs of others. We recognise that every child is unique and therefore we fully embrace and support 'Every Child Matters'.

We believe that child led learning is an essential part of a rich learning environment. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Principles in providing an inclusive environment, tailored to individual needs, both through ability and interest. We are committed to facilitating active learning opportunities both using indoor and outdoor opportunities and benefits drawing inspiration from a variety of pedagogies.
Services
To provide quality learning experiences for all children, which are structured, balanced and relevant to the child and related to the real world. To celebrate each child as an individual; providing a curriculum which takes account of, and responds to, the child's individual developmental need in planned and purposeful play.
A blend of their genes and early experiences, this means that all children have their own learning style. Adhering rigidly to one child development theory, practice or methodology will benefit some and disadvantage others. So, we draw inspiration from many: Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Forest School Approach, The Froebel Approach.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage: a framework for the Early Years which sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to 5 years. We use the EYFS framework to track children's development and identify their next steps; taking into account their schemas and interests, enriching our environment to suit.
Time at nursery is fun-packed and busy. From messy play and first steps to gaining independence in everyday tasks and writing their name. There's so much for children to do, learn and take in. Every child is unique - an original blend of skills and passions. To help us to provide an environment that is tailored to each individual our skilled practitioners engage with the children and take observations of this special time.
A group of children take part in our committee meetings each term. Two meetings are held per term with the aim of giving the children a voice and the opportunity to give feedback on their nursery experience and initiate change where appropriate. Children are more motivated to learn when the environment, activities and resources interest them: involving the children in the decisions we make ensures that we are 'in-tune' with them.

Woodberry Day Nursery (Peartree) used to be a good nursery , before to be sold and change the management. I had my son George for 8 months and I regraded not taking him out earlier. His development was very slow comparing with the actual nursery. I found the the management very unfriendly and even rude when you ask a question and never willing to answer or find a solution when I raised a problem. The constant change of staff had a impact in my son progression.

Got told they had places, went to see it and got shown around by a lovely lady. Filled out the forms two weeks ago and heard nothing, phoned continuously with no answer to find out what was happening. Got through today to be told they had only just got to his paperwork and there wasn’t any places available. Because of this we have missed a place at another nursery. I’m wondering if it’s because my grandchild has Cystic Fibrosis. Not a very good way to run a business.

We just love this nursery. They deserve their outstanding rates. Our little girl attends here and the staff, mainly the key person looks after her very well. She developed a lot ever since she started. The inside is well designed, separated space for under 2 yr olds and olders, 3 babies per key person, big garden, millions of ways to play and learn. Outside is a tiny carpark for approx. 10 cars, a push chair/buggy parking space. Everything is clean and as tidy as a place like this can be. A+++
