We serve a seasonal small plate menu throughout the day and into the evening. Designed with an open kitchen and larder, The Pen Factory also serves a wide range of specially selected cask ales, true continental lagers and an extensive wine selection serving all wines by the glass plus a bespoke seasonal cocktail list. The team are old hands at providing a sociable space where good company, good food and interesting drinks are found.

We visited The Pen Factory while in the city for a university open day. We were there at 11am hoping to order brunch, however there were no food orders being taken til 12 - cue making a coffee last for an hour.… Eventually we ordered salads and sandwiches from the deli counter. The salads were exceptional - so tasty and filling, and sandwiches delicious, gorgeous sourdough. Really good coffee. Friendly staff who made a fuss over our dog, and really lovely interior, would be fab to hire for a party. Will be back next time in Liverpool.

I visited here on Wednesday 16th June with some family members. It was early in the evening so plenty of choice of tables. The venue is really well done out and the building has an interesting history. Great… serving staff who were very welcoming and the menu looked amazing. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Liverpool. Loved it!

The Pen Factory remains one of my favourite places in Liverpool. This visit was for lunch with two friends visiting the city from Japan and France respectively, and given the weather the opportunity to sit in the pleasant outdoor courtyard was seized.
The staff, never afraid to be anything other than themselves, are warm, witty, helpful; the regularly changing beer ranges from the local (Brimstage Brewery, Liverpool Organic among others) through American craft (peanut butter milk stout, anyone?) to Belgian trappist; the food, for which two small plates priced between roughly £5-£7 each should

Opened by former Mr Everyman Bistro himself, Paddy Byrne, The Pen Factory was opened to much anticipation and high expectations. Apparently there were a few wobbles early on with service and it's taken a while to get the ladies toilets sorted but the belated visits I have made there recently have been a pleasure.
The atmosphere is fantastic and somehow, despite this space being very different from the Bistro, captures the same vibe of the old place. The decor is cool, funky and relaxed and the lighting just right.
