Our MSC H&G Coated Whitebait has been awarded Foodservice Product of the Year and Best New Fish Product by the British Frozen Food Federation. Our H&G Whitebait comes from an MSC-certified fishery, and is rated as a 'Fish to Eat' by the MCS Good Fish Guide.

Founded by Ali Hannaford in 1988, the company was started with an investment of only 3,500, second hand machinery, sheer determination and faith in the future and Paramount is still an independently-owned family business. The company quickly developed from packing prawns to creating a range of premium value added frozen seafood and vegetarian products for the foodservice industry.

Our team is made up of some of the best people in the industry, all contributing to making Paramount a success with their experience, knowledge and innovative ideas.
The initiatives we have followed within our Environmental Policy have delivered considerable cost savings and have improved our energy efficiency significantly over the past ten years since moving into our new premises, and further improvements are targeted going forwards. Reduction in gas consumption of 53% due to an investment in more efficient boilers and machinery with the support of The Carbon Trust.
Seafood products are the backbone of our business and therefore sustainability is key. We recognise the urgent need to encourage and develop more sustainable fishing practices and aquaculture supplies worldwide.
In support of this we actively promote products that contain seafood from fisheries that have been certified as well managed and sustainable by the internationally recognised schemes run by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and Friends of the Sea or supplies that are considered sustainable by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) and Seafish schemes.

The Fishermen's Mission is the only fishermen's charity that provides emergency support alongside practical, financial, spiritual and emotional care. The staff at Paramount have taken part in fundraising activities such as annual Dartmoor Midnight 12 mile walks, Fish Friday BBQs. Ali Hannaford (our Chairman) has raised funds for The Fishermen's Missions by trekking to the summit of Mt.
