Made up of several long sandy beaches, 'The Bay' is perfect for a variety of watersports to suit any ability, from total beginner to pro. For surfers, windsurfers and kite surfers, Shanklin favours north-east to southerly swells, while Sandown and Yaverland work best with wind and swell from an east to south-west direction.

I've been coming to EW&W for the past three years and they are without doubt the best surf and water sports shop on the Isle of Wight, if not the whole of the South of England. Always very friendly and great prices (especially if you are buying two or three items!). And nothing is too much trouble - they even phoned their contacts around the island to see where the best surf was on the day I came in. Highly recommended and six stars!

These guys have been keeping the real water people of the island kitted out since before I was born! Quality gear, excellent range and always able to offer great advice either about kit or places to go. Simply the best place to go to on the island for any proper surf/kite/windsurf/SUP/body board/kyak kit and tons of other stuff as well. Totally recommended...
