A complete mind and body approach, focusing on Clinical Pilates Methods to provide specialist rehabilitation exercise and stress management techniques to help individuals reduce pain and daily stress. Clinical Pilates is a form of physical exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility, breathing, balance, posture and core stability.

It is distinct from the general Pilates method in that it addresses specific issues due to injury, poor sports performance, muscle weakness and recovery from surgery. Lower back pain impacts every aspect of your life. Through a process of postural re-education, and the strengthening of abdominal and spinal muscles, your pain will be reduced, enabling you to move with confidence once again.

I have designed my workplace to be light and airy and to offer a comfortable yet motivating environment.
In my work I use various pieces of equipment to aid rehabilitation and improve personal performance, from massage balls, stability balls, wobble cushions, foam rollers, resistance bands and free weights. I use a state of the art Clinical Reformer which facilitates safe and speedy rehabilitation from spinal issues, neurological problems, and chronic pain conditions.
Specific tests will be used to highlight those areas of restricted flexibility, poor core stability, pelvic and shoulder instability and loss of normal movement patterns. Tests will look for both low and high load motor control problems, relating to stability and performance. Referral notes from other health professionals involved with your rehabilitation will also be discussed where appropriate.
After a serious horse riding accident some years ago, Clinical Pilates proved to be an ideal and effective solution for my rehabilitation, and the management of my spinal discomfort. I spent many hours strengthening my body to regain my movement and manage my pain.

I have combined this personal experience, with a sound theoretical and practical understanding of the physical and psychological difficulties associated with recovery from injury and postural problems.Following my University studies, I learned how psychological stress manifests itself in the body.
Pilates is a form of exercise designed to improve core stability, strengthen and lengthen muscles, and increase flexibility and range of movement at the joints. Practiced regularly, Pilates will transform the way you move. Joseph Pilates was a sickly child, and he recognised from an early age that he needed an exercise programme to help him regain his strength.
