In 2003 Laura & George Molloy set up Swimbabes, a company dedicated to teaching babies to swim. It was a decision they made after joining Aquababies in Manchester with their son Joshua were the benefits for both Josh and Mum and Dad where clear to see.
In fact Laura and George loved the swimming lessons so much that she decided to train as baby swim instructors and in 2003 took the leap and set up Swimbabes just after the birth of their second child, Eve.Laura states: Giving up a job that I had done for years was scary but I knew I needed to make changes in my life.

The swimbabes photoshoots are the perfect way to capture special moments with your little swimmers in the pool. Taken by professional photographers Underwater Art with years of experience, photos make fantastic gifts for family, friends, and loved ones, whilst providing your child with a photo of them starting their journey in the pool.
Baby swimming classes are a fantastic way to give your child confidence in water, and provide a special time with just them for you to enjoy fully. We have been running baby swimming lessons with qualified teachers for over 15 years in Yorkshire and Derbyshire making thousands of wonderful memories and lots of great little swimmers.
The journey to becoming a strong swimmer takes time and patience. Each child will achieve their goals in their own time, and they shouldn't be rushed or forced into to activities they're not ready for. The Swimbabes course is designed to let each child develop at a pace they're comfortable with, whilst always challenging them.
Our philosophy is to ensure safety and water confidence, as well as making sure children fully utilise the benefits and enjoyment they can have swimming with their parents, friends and perhaps even at a competitive level. Our Swimstars sessions run in small, warm pools and offer the ideal environment for little swimmers to take the plunge.

Thank you to all at Swimbabes / stars for the most amazing teaching of both of my boys since they were little (now 7 & 9). We have loved the lessons and, without your help when things got hard, we wouldn’t have persevered (particularly with Thomas - that was a long hard swimming year!!). Both of the boys love being in the water and have starred body boarding when we go away with no fear of the water.
We wish you every success as a business for the future.

We are week 5 into our first term with Swimbabes and I can’t sing their praises enough. I have a really severe phobia of swimming in uncontrolled environments/ the unknown (I can swim at my own pace, and in my own time but not as a group and find enclosed pools really difficult) so swimming lessons with my daughter terrified me - to the point where… I had a panic attack in the changing rooms before our first lesson. I knew I didn’t want my irrational fear to affect my daughter so we took the plunge (pun intended). The instructors have been amazing with my daughter (who initially

I love to swim and wanted to share my love with my son. I signed up to swimbabes and was not disappointed. stevie is fantastic. In just the first term my son has come on leaps and bounds and his confidence has grown so much. I signed up for another term as a result and cant see that changing. would definately recommend.

I can’t recommend Swimbabes highly enough. Both my children have swam with swimbabes from 3 months old until going to school. Overall we’ve had lessons for 7 years and they are both a perfect advert for swimbabes especially my youngest Lois who at the age of 3 could swim a length of the chesterfield pool unaided!! Both are confident swimmers who love being in the water. Special thanks to Alex who has been brilliant with them both and we would have continued lessons with him if we could have.

I can’t recommend Swimbabes lessons enough!
My wife and I have been taking our son to Swimbabes since he was 6 months. A year on and his confidence and ability in the water is great. He loves going to the sessions and the pool at Ravencliffe is brilliant. The lessons are great fun and teach your little one potentially life saving skills.
