We have Four excellent coaches, Christian Allen (Head Coach), Chris Ashton, Rob Heaton and Kelly Shipton all fully licensed through the Lawn Tennis Association. Groups coaching sessions take place for an hour after school most days of the week and we cater for ages from 4 upwards and all standards, from absolute beginner to advanced players.
The groups mirror the Lawn Tennis Association Mini Tennis programme. The age bands are for guidance only and the coaches will ensure that your child is placed in a group suitable for his/her ability. The groups are fun and ensure that each week there are certain technical skills practised with match play at the end of the lesson.

Services
Our Head Coach, Christian Allen was named as the Essex Development Coach of the Year in 2015. This prestigious title is awarded to the Coach who has shown to work well with the juniors in a club and is due recognition of Christian's great work. Working alongside Christian is his team of assistant coaches - Kelly Shipton and Grahame Lister to enable coaching for all standards and ages.
We have a wide range of adult courses to cater for all levels, Cardio Tennis and Team training sessions running throughout the year. For more experienced players comfortable with match play looking to improve tactical awareness for doubles & singles. A course for beginners or those returning to tennis, learn the basics of how to serve/rally/score in a high paced group lesson.
A pro rata will apply for those joining later in the tennis year. Contact the Membership secretary if you want to join the club and want up to date information on subscription rates or have any other enquires. The category is for players who are new to tennis and are not up to the standard of tennis required for full membership.
We run five men's teams, three ladies' teams and four mixed teams in the Stock Winter/Brentwood and District Summer leagues. We also have men's and ladies' teams in the Essex Veterans leagues. We are always looking for new squad members so if you're interested in playing matches against other Clubs, then please contact the men's or ladies' team captain.
Hutton and Shenfield is a thriving club and should provide a safe and inclusive environment for everyone to enjoy playing tennis. In addition, Hutton and Shenfield obtained Tennis Mark accreditation in 2016 which will further enhance the reputation of the Club as a safe and inclusive environment to play tennis.
