I qualified as a Hearing Aid Audiologist in 1995 with The Hearing Aid Council then became a member of BSHAA (British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists) and the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and undertake continuous professional development. I have worked with multinational companies, high street retailers and charities opening hearing centres, training staff and delivering hearing instruments.

I accompanied my 90-year-old mother to see Ian in October 2021 and to two further appointments since after several years of unsatisfactory provision of hearing aids elsewhere. Ian is good at listening, diagnosing problems, suggesting and providing solutions, ongoing monitoring and care. The hearing aids he advocated for her are absolutely transformative for her hearing: it is a delight to see her fully engaged in conversations once more. Ian has been very patient, kind, encouraging and professional in his dealings with her.

In and out within 10 minutes, so quick and straight forward! Sally was easy to talk to and get along with from the start- great sense of humour and enthusiastic about what she does. I had micro-suction to remove a build-up of wax that had been a problem for some time, and my hearing has become crystal clear again. Painless and done within minutes, and I can recommend The Hearing Expert to anyone who's having the same issues as I had. Thanks once again Sally for your help :)

I was a bit nervous about getting hearing aids but Ian explained everything and made me feel very comfortable with the idea. After a hearing test we agreed on the type of aid I would go for. Unfortunately I couldn't get used to them and after a couple of appointments with Ian suggesting different ways to get round my problem I decided they weren't for me. Ian was very understanding and refunded my money without a problem. I would highly recommend a visit to Ian at Hearing Expert if you have a problem, even though it didn't work for me.

Been having my ears cleaned here regularly over last few years. Always manage to get an appointment quickly. Sally and Ian are really knowledgeable and helpful. I have ongoing hearing problems and it is so reassuring to know that the experts are close by and able to assist. Premises always spotless.

After weeks of struggling with my hearing due to a wax build up, I contacted the Hearing Expert. I had a quick chat with Ian about the problem and he arranged an appointment with Sally Griffiths. I can’t thank Sally enough for her professionalism and pleasant demeanour. Sally fully explained what the micro suction technique would involve, before carrying out the faultless, pain-free procedure. Sally is a credit to the profession, to the company and to herself. Excellent service from Ian, my problem was also exacerbated by having very small ear canals but he found a hearing aid to suit me (Starkey Livio AI). He spent the time making sure it fitted correctly and set the sound levels appropriate to my loss of hearing. I have had two more appointments since to check for any problems and to set up (Edge) on my smart phone which allows me to make adjustment if need when out & about. No feed back has occurred, All in all I am very satisfied and can now hear fully again. Although not the cheapest they are an excellent aid and Ian’s ongoing service is excellent
