Our group of self-catering holiday cottages are In the fine coastal countryside of North Devon's Hartland Peninsula, a UNESCO designated area of outstanding natural beauty, less than 2.5 hours' drive from Bristol, 1.5 miles from one of the most dramatic stretches of the South West Coast Path and close to Cornwall.

Five of our cottages are conversions of 18th century stone farm buildings, around the former farmyard. The Dairy was once part of the farmhouse, where we live, and the Orchard is a detached, modern conversion of another outbuilding.
Services
The cottages have been converted from old stone farm buildings dating back to at least the 18th century and contain a lot of character. Tucked quietly down a country lane they are ideally situated whether you want to walk along the cliffs on the coast paths for dramatic and breathtaking scenery, taking it easy and getting away from the hustle and bustle of every day life or visiting the many local places of interest.
Our largest cottage with one double bedroom with a king-sized bed (and space for a cot) and one bedroom with three single beds (plus another single 'truckle' bed, if needed). On two floors, The Granary has beamed ceilings, a well-equipped kitchen, a separate dining room and a sitting room with an inglenook fireplace and wood-burning stove.
The Linhay has a double room (with space for a cot) and a twin-bedded room (that can be linked to make another double). The bath has an overhead shower. The cosy open plan kitchen/living area has a wood-burning stove and there is a sheltered outdoor sitting area on part of the former farmyard.

Guests are all welcome to use the large picnic/play area with sea views, and the Spa Room with its hot tub and sauna which is bookable by the hour for private use.We had a wonderful stay at Cheristow Cottages, couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome from Annie and her family. Stunning place, cottages are perfect- they have thought of everything!
Cheristow is close to Hartland, at the centre of The Hartland Peninsula which is known for its wildly beautiful miles of unspoilt coastline. Channel and Atlantic views from this rugged, right-angled edge of North Devon - to Lundy and beyond - are stunning. You may spot porpoises and peregrine falcons.
Cheristow is a small hamlet of two farms and four houses surrounded by fields and across the valley from Hartland (a mile-or-so away). We share a bumpy access lane which peters out into a green lane leading to the Abbey and a footpath which leads to the village of Hartland through Cheristow Woods. We send detailed directions when guests book (or see below).

We have just had a lovely stay at Cheristow. There are a number of cottages situated on a lovely non working farm just outside Hartland.
The cottages are very comfortable and cosy and are fully equipped. There is also private use of a hot tub and sauna.
Annie and Vickey are really lovely and are on hand with helpful information about the local area etc.
They have their own chickens and pigs on the farm and lovely Annie let us help feed them, which I loved doing.
There are lots of things to do and see nearby. Clovelly being only about miles away.
The local village of Hartland has 3 fantastic

Absolutely perfect location for exploring the beautiful Hartland area and for walking the South West Coastal Path. Lovely welcoming owners and the cream tea was added bonus after a long day's walking. Thank you.

Some part of me doesn't want to give this place a positive review as, quite honestly, I want to keep it all to myself! Firstly it's a great base to discover the north Devon coastal path. Hartland Quay is 10 minutes away and from there you can strain the calf muscles walking along the coast to the east. Best news of all is the Wreckers Inn that will sate the throat after a hearty walk.
But I digress. The accommodation itself is spotless and very up-to-date. The owners, Annie, Vicky, Ian and Quentin are brilliant and react to any concern with unerring haste. Best of all you can bring along your

Originally booked the Tack Room, but was later upgraded (at no cost!) to The Stables. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay this weekend! Vicky and Annie were always on hand to help with local sightseeing or extra towels, or anything else we needed! Will definitely be returning for another holiday soon. 5/5

My family and I and family dog wanted a short break of 5 days, so we decided to book a dog friendly cottage at Cheristow. It was the best decision we ever made. The people were friendly and could not do enough for you to make our stay comfortable. We definitely recommend it and would like to come here again in the future.

Fantastic accommodation, hot tub, sauna and lovely hosts to boot. The homemade scones and jam were a nice touch for journey worn travellers.
