Compulsory basic training (CBT) was introduced to help reduce the very high accident rate among inexperienced motorcyclists. A CBT must be completed before a learner moped or motorcycle rider is allowed to ride on the road with L-plates. Upon successful completion of this you'll be allowed to drive up to a 125cc motorcycle for 2 years, on L plates.
Module 1 consists of ten set exercises, some of which are performed at slower speeds, and at least two at a minimum speed of 50kpm. Exercises can be practiced at one of our dedicated private sites, using our speed guns and equipment to help monitor your progress. These facilities have enabled us to gain one of the highest pass rates nationally already.
If you passed your test a few years ago but haven't been riding for a while, then Ace Motorcycle Training offers refresher courses that may be just what you need. These are relaxed courses for riders to bring their skills up to date, which we've incorporated into our training schedule. We are keen to understand what you are looking to achieve and will tailor each course appropriately.

I took a CBT course, the course was well put together the staff were friendly; the facilities were good and the bikes all worked as expected. I failed my CBT, I have never ridden a bike before and given some of my manoveurs I'm not surprised but the second instructor wasn't as clear as the first and slightly hostile when asked to explain things in further detail saying things like "I don't care what you have to say." And "everything is wrong with that" without going into further detail.
Whilst practicing the basic manoveurs the instructor would turn his back on me when It was my turn to go round
