Sir Edmond de Lotbiniere was approached by an inventor with new mix designs for Blocks containing sand, wood, cement & expensive Admixture. The current Brandon site was bought from the Railway Company and the factory was the old engine shed for repairing machines. The supply of expensive Admixture ran out, but they made blocks anyway and these turned out better than the previous ones!

Lignacite's block manufacturing plants located in Norfolk and Essex, are responsible for producing over 100,000 blocks per day, enough blocks to build approximately 100 houses. We work closely with several of the leading Architects, Specifiers and Builders' Merchants throughout East Anglia, London and the South East.
