Chertsey Minors
Both Peter and Nigel have worked in the motor industry all their lives and the Chertsey Minors story began with Nigel's own Morris. It's a 1968 traveller which was bought by his uncle when it was only a few months old. It remained in daily use transporting building materials until its final demise in 1987 when it was found to be beyond economical repair (the term "rotten from the door handles down" certainly applied to this car).

It stood for a further three years until the restoration work was started in 1990. It finally went back on the road in Spring 1997. This car was never intended to be a show car. We just attended a few shows and then people started to ask us whether we would carry out work on their cars. Between Peter and I, we have over 50 years of experience in the motor industry.
Services
Behind the scenes on a Traveller. Note how the wheel arches and wheel arch flanges have been painted before the wood is fitted. On this old split screen, all of the unstable layers of paint had to be removed because of micro-blistering. This convertible was originally Trafalgar Blue but the client insisted on it being sprayed inside and out in Minor Million Lilac with white leather upholstery.
On the Dolomite above, we have carried out various bodywork repairs and areas of paintwork over the years to keep this car in this condition. The Spitfire above was left in a garage for many years until the owner rang us to see if we would be interested in recommisioning it for the road. This photo shows the car well under way.
We can overhaul 948cc gearboxes (subject to parts availability) and rebuild 1098cc gearboxes at very competitive prices. Please call for details. We also undertake modifications such as disc brake conversions or alternator conversations etc. The owner of this Ford Thunderbird came to see us, again because nobody in the area wanted to undertake the work (probably because of parts supply).
