Hi, my name is David Day and l run Classic Car Buyer UK. I buy, restore and sell Classic Cars and I am based in Farnham, Surrey. My interest in cars began when l started working in my Uncle's garage in Croydon during the summer holidays at the age of 12. I'm a big motor racing fan and in my 20's I raced for Speedworth international, I wasn't bad to be fair and won many championships during the 1980s and 1990s in stock cars, bangers, and hot rods.
The Aston Martin DB6 is a Grand Tourer with a top speed of 150 mph accelerating 0-60mph in 8.4 seconds. The DB6 had optional air conditioning and power steering. It had more headroom than its famous DB5 predecessor and luggage space and was available as a 5-speed manual transmission or a 3 speed automatic gearbox.
In mid-1954 the engine was increased to 1466 cc and designated TF1500. The two seater roadster was the first of the MGB range to be produced giving more passenger and luggage space than the previous MGA whilst being 3 shorter. A larger 1.8 litre engine, 4-speed synchromesh gears or Borg-Warner 35 automatic transmission, softer suspension contributed to a smoother ride and a higher top speed.
When Ford launched the front-mounted, front-wheel-drive Escort XR3i in 1983, the established competition was the VW Golf GTi. The XR3i 1.6 (1597 cc ) was a 4 cylinder single overhead camshaft naturally aspirated engine with 2 valves per cylinder, with 105bhp at 6000 rpm and a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1983, the BMW M635CSi is the first of the BMW M6 model line and is the third distinctly "BMW M-badged" car. Powered by a 210 kW (282 hp) version of the BMW M88/3 litre straight-six engine, 4,088 M635CSi/M6 cars were built, 1,767 of which were for the US. The Austin-Healey 100-6 is a two-seater roadster 2639 cc 6 cylinder engine that replaced the Austin Healey 100 which was a 4 cylinder - 2660 cc.
