We have Swedish roots, but all our homes are manufactured in the UK, with our office and show home located in Sussex. This allows our in-house architectural technicians, 3D designers and project managers to work closely together to ensure the finished product is exactly what the client imagined.

When Scandia-Hus was first established in the UK in 1974, our timber frame homes were designed and manufactured at our Swedish factory and transported to this country on huge articulated trailers. Although we maintain close links with our Swedish origins, today all our kits are produced here in the UK.
The Scandia-Hus team are always honoured when a client chooses to include us in their self build journey. We're lucky enough to have worked with a number of customers on outstanding projects that have gained industry recognition for the quality of their build, design, teamwork and sustainability. The beautiful bungalow featured in our case study, 'The House in the Hollow', was shortlisted for the Build It Awards 2020.
We offer a fully bespoke design service, our in-house architectural team work with you to create the layout and look that best suits you, your lifestyle and your plot. Whether you prefer a country cottage feel, statement modern architecture, or anything in between, we can make it happen. Amongst the 4,000 homes we have designed and built in the UK over the last 45 years can be found every conceivable blueprint and style.
Building your own home is an exciting project, but we appreciate that it can also be a daunting one, and this is why we are on hand to help you throughout the entire self build process. I visited the Scandia offices and showroom with my wife a while ago. We met with a salesman briefly and even after our conversation, we were left underwhelmed and a tad bewildered as to what the company actually do and what service they provide...
It transpires after having carried out some research within the industry that they are simply a design/planning office. All their 'bespoke' materials used on their builds are bought from a third party.
If you are looking to build your home as efficiently as possible, at a sensible cost, i'd probably avoid and go direct to builder.

A very modern thinking "Kit home" build company. They were very professional and helpful. Gave us time and advice on building our own new home. this company is in our opinion one of the very top companies for those looking to build their own newly designed home whatever the style, they seem to have the answers. A visit to there show houses is a must.

Scandi - Hus have a beautiful example of one of their properties that you are able to walk around and they are in the process of adding more showhomes at the moment. The building is stunning outside and inside and is well worth visiting if you are thinking of your own self build home.
We found Aaron very helpful and he answered all our questions regarding self build timber frame homes and was very helpful and knowledgable about everything to do with self build.
