Meditrain
Meditrain Limited is an independent company established in 2004, operating initially from its West Yorkshire base in the North of England. Its founder and Managing Director is Josette Bailly, a qualified and experienced training provider and assessor. Through the success of its quality training courses, delivered over the years in England, Scotland and Wales, Meditrain Limited has expanded.

In 2008 it opened Meditrain (Southern) Limited, operating from its base in West Sussex and run by company director Louise Mellodew. The diverse training courses available from Meditrain range from a basic first aid course to food safety, and from risk assessment to infection control and moving and handling of people.
Services
Meditrain Limited is an accredited and approved training centre with Qualsafe Awards; Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance, and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. Meditrain will continue to provide accredited and nationally recognised first aid courses through its associated Awarding Bodies regulated by Ofqual.
Before establishing her training company, founder Josette Bailly's interest in this field was influenced by her duties as a school's qualified first aider and matron. These roles gave her first-hand understanding of a school's responsibility towards its pupils, and the training required to care for them in a safe environment.
It can be difficult for anyone working within the care sector to keep abreast of changing legislation and regulations. Nevertheless, there is mandatory training for staff, who must comply with set care management system standards and update them as required. In England, the Care Quality Commission inspects those operating within the sector to ensure national standards of quality and safety are met.
The Health and Safety at Work Act is the primary piece of legislation requiring employers to comply with law. The Health and Safety Executive gives guidance on managing workplace health and safety risks, and preventing illness and injury.

In industry, the risks for employers to consider are situations where employees use heavy-duty/high voltage electrical machines and motors, or cutting and welding equipment, or move and handle heavy objects (such as on construction sites or in garden centres). In retail, where shops may store highly flammable stock, traders must have an awareness of fire risks, and the need for an efficient evacuation procedure.
Perhaps you are an individual looking to attend a course or a business that does have the space to accommodate a training course on your premises. Meditrain runs open courses at an external venue in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire on a regular basis and offers discounted rates for group bookings. Alternatively please call the regional office to discuss your requirements.
