Backlash Photography is a Shropshire based photographic business run by photographer Matthew Everington providing services across Shrewsbury, Telford, Market Drayton, Oswestry and throughout the Midlands. From our Shrewsbury based studio we specialise in family photography, baby & child photography, Bump photography, couple photography, wedding photography, commercial photography and much more.
We also cater for on location shoots where the customer may want a more natural feel to the photos. At Backlash Photography we aim to provide as wide of a range of photographic services as possible. Services
My name is Matthew Everington, I'm a freelance photographer based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. I took up photography in 2010 when I bought my first camera; since then I have studied the art in many different ways from college courses to online tuition. I am always keen to expand my skills further and I spend a lot of time researching new and ever-changing techniques that I can apply to my own work.
From the moment they open their eyes our children become the most special thing in our lives. They grow up so fast though and if you even blink you miss a special moment in their life. So it's never to early to start creating the memories of them that you can pick up and look at time and time again.
We had our photo shoot this morning and what a great time my daughter had! After countless practices of smiling nicely at home I was a bit worried about what the photographs would turn out like! There was no need to worry at all! Matt did a great job of getting Ella to relax and got some great natural shots as well as some really good ones with props!
Prices and estimates for any of the services that we provide can be obtained be contacting us directly. Yes, all bookings for shoots are only confirmed once the customer has paid a mandatory deposit. The deposit is a percentage of the total price of the shoot. Until we receive a paid deposit we will only pencil in a shoot for a requested date but we will not guarantee it.
Whether you are looking for a stunning studio family portrait or something a little more diverse we have the recipe to make your wishes a reality. We recognise that not every family shoot has to conform to the "norm" and that's why we offer a service that can cater for not only the standard studio style but a service that can take us outdoors and even on a little adventure.

I just wanted to write a review to say a huge thank you to Matt and Roo for our incredible wedding photos. You both captured every single moment so beautifully from our wedding day and we will look back on and treasure these images forever. We have photos of things we didn’t even notice on the day itself. Going back through the photos made us feel we were reliving our amazing day again. We booked Matt for our wedding in August last year but had to postpone due to covid, throughout the whole delay Matt was amazing he made sure that he stayed in touch with updates and nothing was too much trouble even when I had my makeup artist let me down 4 days before the wedding Matt came to my rescue and found me and amazing lady Selina, on the day Matt and (Rude😂) were professional and fitted into the day perfectly nothing was too much trouble and Matt was great at blending in even if he did kidnap the bride halfway through 😂😂😂 but in all seriousness we would definitely recommend

Matt was incredible!! We were let down by our photographer 4 days before our wedding and we came across Backlash Photography on Google and we couldn't be happier! Matt moved around his schedule so he could help us out, and he really saved the day!

Fabulous facility very homely. My 1 year old was made to feel very settled and the staff worked fabulously with her. Real thought goes into the photos and discussions in order to create any specific effects you want. Staff are delightful and friendly and was all over a very lovely experience for me and my daughter. We are certain to come back x
