Hi John, I would just like to thank you very much for your incredible service which made the whole process so simple for me from the initial phone call to receiving my bike frame within 4 Days with a beautifully cleaned out 'seat tube' Awesome mate and I will be recommending you to all my biking buddy's!
Some jobs you just have to get the specialists to do, My Ti frame had a well and truly stuck Thomson Masterpiece Seatpost, enter The Seatpost Man. I went for a stroll along the canal and 1.5 hrs later I had an undamaged Ti frame and a usable seatpost (although it's now in my spares box). I would recommend his service to anyone with the same problem and I don't like to cross over the border to the wrong side of the Pennines!

Services
My business specialises in professionally removing tight or seized seatposts from bicycle frames using a totally unique method which will withdraw the post (intact if possible) in a safe and frame friendly way. This method of removal is only available from The Seatpost Man in Chorley, Lancashire, UK.
I have designed and fabricated a full set of bespoke tooling purely for extracting very tight or seized seatposts from bicycle frames. This method involves a straight withdrawal of the post without any of the torsional stresses involved by attempting to twist it out or the use of acids, chemicals or heat which could affect the frame or components over time.
Here is a list of questions I am regularly asked in the course of my work. If they can be of any help to you to remove your seatpost, great! If not I would recommend seeking professional advice and this list may then be of help in finding a suitable experienced person to entrust your bike with. It is very easy to underestimate the challenge faced when looking at something so simple as a stuck seatpost.
I have no specific arrangements with a courier but here are a few pointers if you intended to send your bike to me. It's fairly straight forward for you to arrange delivery and collection both ways. Alternatively I can arrange the courier for you. I can work with a complete bike or a bare frame so the courier cost will vary depending on size/weight of box.

Did a 6 hour round trip drive to visit John yesterday to have the seatpost removed from my Ti gravel bike, left the bike with him and went for a coffee and just over an hour later I got a call to say the job was done. John is a total gent and a pleasure to deal with, I can’t recommend him highly enough. Cheers

Top man this chap, he saved my tandem after I got a new post jammed in and a much loved Reynolds 531 frame tourer which had been totally and utterly seized for years. Fast, friendly and did exactly as he promised. He’s also offered to machine down a new seat post from 27.2mm to 27.0mm so it fits my frame, that will get round the fact that you can’t buy 27.0mm seatpost any more. Definitely recommend John.

John is an absolutely top bloke and is all but guaranteed to get your seatpost out without damaging your frame and in most cases (carbon posts excepted I think, do check the website) without sacrificing the post. Over 1500 consecutive successful removals and counting, this chap could save you a lot of grief. Removed a post for me on a 30 year old bike that had been stuck ever since I bought it over 10 years ago so who knows how long it had been seized in there for. A couple of hours later, job done and another bike frame saved from landfill/recycling (depending on your frame material of course
