Services
MARs is run by a board who hold regular monthly meetings and an annual general meeting when accounts are prepared. Minutes of meetings are circulated to members of the organisation. We also have a salaried Manager who runs MARs on a day-to-day basis. We always welcome new volunteers who want to help MARs.
We offer a range of fresh food stalls, along with other vendors, all run by local people at our Market. Each week we try to make a space for a local charity or society. Some evenings there is a visiting food truck from around 4 until the evening. If you are looking to hire a room or host an event, you can check room availability on our calendar.

This was previously the old Melbourne Secondary school which was closed around the 1970s. It’s been reused as a community centre for various events and meetings from the Operatic Society to Slimming World. Thankfully the majority of it remains unchanged from when it was a school so anyone that went there can delight in reliving their past.
This is a far better use of the land than building yet more houses.

This is a really super place set within an old Victorian school. You can hire the hall out for functions and events, it has a bar and industrial kitchen which came in at a very good hourly rate. There are theatre productions to comedy nights with a very good programme which is in tiered seating. There are coffee mornings and craft stalls periodically. You can join a fitness club or play badminton etc. There is also a thriving library with computers.
