We have five instructors altogether working for Nicks Motorcycle Training with a wealth of experience. Our aim through out your training is to make the experience enjoyable and as stress free as possible. If you're not getting the hang of it it's our problem not yours! Nick has been instructing for fifteen years now and previously worked for a big national training school as a manager for this area.
Since forming an independent school he has made it his priority to maintain that personal touch with, of course, as much humour as possible! Steve has been riding and training with Nick's since the "beginning". As with all of us Steve's passion for motorcycling is matched by his commitment to getting the message across, not only on safety but also having fun.

Services
Anybody wishing to ride a moped or motorcycle up to 125cc is required to take it. At the end of the course (generally a day) you will receive a CBT Certificate which will validate the provisional motorcycle entitlement of your licence. This is valid for 2 years. Provides hands on basic riding and road craft skills over several hours off road ending up with a minimum 2 hour on road session.
At the end of your training there will be a Mod 1 off road test lasting approximately 10 minutes involving pushing your bike backwards, a slalom, figure of 8, slow control ride, U turn, a 32mph emergency stop and a 32mph hazard avoidance controlled stop. Once this has been passed you are now ready for your Mod 2 test.
At 17 you will be able to take the Mod 1 and Mod 2 motorcycle tests (after first taking the CBT and passing the theory test) on a motorcycle of between 120cc and 125cc. On passing the test the full licence allows the rider to ride any light motorcycle up to 125cc. If you take the test on an automatic then your licence will be restricted to automatic motorcycles only.
The final step to a full power and unrestricted category A licence can be at 21 but ONLY if the rider has held an A2 licence for a minimum of 2 years, or at 24 if the rider has a new provisional motorcycle license or full car license. You would still have to complete CBT then, when ready, progress up to a motorcycle of at least 595cc and engine power of at least 40KW (53.6bhp).
Not only do we train you to ride a motorcycle but we also offer you an extensive inventory of Battlefield and Non-Battlefield tours. Our varied tours range form weekend trips along the Jurassic coast, sometimes even taking in the Isle of Wight (almost foreign!) to the Battlefields of Northern Europe and further!
