I've been learning the art of music, since the age of 4 and have been for the last 28 years and counting. I have completed several examinations and courses including a 2:1 Degree in Music Commercial Composition and Technology, grade 5 music theory with ABRSM, Grade 8 Guitar with Trinity Guildhall and Grade 5 piano.
A good internet connection is helpful. Using the hot spot feature from your phone - assuming it's a recent enough model, can actually sometimes be better than routers. Online lessons will be via Zoom. You will receive multi-camera set up with clear audio where you'll also benefit from being able to record a reminder from your lesson too.
Which ever way you choose to go forward, you'll need to submit the basic information, DOB, Name, Address, Grade, Instrument, the correct exam board, etc. Please make sure to use the same name that's on your passport, especially when dealing with online exams. You've worked really hard to get to where you are at the moment, so enjoy the exam - it's a performance.

I have been having lessons for a month now and I would recommend Alex for anyone who wants to learn guitar. He is clear, patient and is always happy to answer any questions I might have. Online lessons by zoom have been great and run smoothly. He is also kind enough to upload lesson material to youtube, which greatly helps with my learning.

I have been having lessons with Alex now for 4 months, being brand new to the guitar (or any musical instrument) at 28 I thought it would be a struggle but Alex has made it very easy and fun to learn and I am far exceeding where I thought I would be able to get to in such a short time. Learning music theory alongside the guitar from the offset is also proving such an advantage. Very highly recommended don't hesitate to start learning with Alex.

Alex started teaching my son electric guitar from scratch at the age of seven. He has progressed amazingly in a year and a half and is about to take his grade 2 exam. Alex has done a great job nurturing my son’s interest in electric guitar by teaching him the songs he loves. Alex is also teaching my son music theory and he is developing the ability to read music.
