Mykita was founded in Germany in 2004 by two product design students Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling. They were first based in a nursery (Kita in German) which inspired the brand name. Their first models were created after they acquired old button manufacturing machines from flea markets and started bending sheets of metal into shape, they nick-named their workshop the "African Machine Park".

For me, customer service is everything. The Oculist is one of those rare places where customers are not only valued, but are given a personal experience that goes way beyond normal retail experience. Every single member of the Oculist team takes the time to get to know their customers and build a relationship, which is an ‘old fashioned’ principle that is so often forgotten today. But it works.
I recently went in for an eye test, which I was slightly dreading, because I knew my prescription had changed (I’ve always been short sighted, and now need to take my glasses off for reading. Sigh

Would not go anywhere else; I have been visiting for many years now, each time is a wonderful experience and it’s certainly not just a visit to the optician. The team are wonderful, excellent client care and a fabulous range of eye ware, you can not go wrong. You will not regret putting the health of your eyes into their care.

Fantastic place for quality service and an extensive product range of high quality stylish eyewear.
It’s not the cheapest place, but you do get what you pay for with first class aftercare. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys.
They were more than happy to take my prescribed lenses back after unsuccessfully trying to get used to them for a week or two, and quickly get upgraded lenses manufactured for a nominal fee. You wouldn’t get that from a generic high street shop!
Their optical equipment is top quality, so much so that the eye doctor at the hospital said that their equipment wasn’t

Outstanding customer service from Gerry and his wonderful team. Having been recommended by a friend, I knew the moment I was greeted by Hannah that I had made the right choice. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and professional from the eye test and the additional scan by Gerry, choosing the right frames for my lifestyle with the help from Rob and Hannah, to collecting my gorgeous new glasses and sunglasses from Zahra. The choice and quality of frames is amazing and I can honestly say my new glasses are the most comfortable, lightweight and stylish I have ever had in my 40+ years of wearing glasses

I have been a customer of the Oculist Optician since 2015.The customer care of this practice is second to none.
I recently attended for my annual eye examination with the new Covid 19 procedures in place for safety of customers and staff. On arrival i was greeted by Hannah with her usual friendly manner which has always been given by all the staff. my temperature was checked and recorded. hand sanitation was offered.
I then had my examination with Gerry is is so thorough and passionate about his profession.This included a scan and took around 30 minutes.

Absolutely wonderful opticians! The Oculist really prides itself on good customer service and care, even helping me with damaged frames that I did not originally buy from the store. Zahra in particular is really helpful, always giving a good choice of frames and helping identify the best standards in eye wear that suits you.

The eye test and inspection uses very latest equipment, and so much time is spent to ensure that everything is in order and explained.
The available choice of frames is easily the best I have seen, with an excellent selection from specialist frame manufacturers as well as the usual 'designer' ranges. The expert way that you are guided through your selection of lenses and frames means you really do come away with a tip-top pair (or two!) of glasses.
Honestly, forget the national chains, use a local company AND get a superior product.
