Services
Westcliff RFC was formed in 1922 as Old Westcliffians Rugby Football Club for ex-pupils of Westcliff High School for Boys. In order to maintain playing standards the Club went open on a limited basis in the 60's and fully open in the 90's with a change of name to Westcliff Rugby Football Club. The Club is approved as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) which brings benefits in respect of the Business Rate and tax relief on some donations.
Four times a year winning tickets are drawn and participants have the opportunity of both winning cash prizes of up to 500 and helping our Club. Over 50% of all proceeds to the 500 Club is paid out directly in cash prizes and the balance goes directly towards the facilities and benefits offered by our Club.
Donations and fund raisers are a very important ways to generate funds for the improvement of the club and for the benefit of its members. The use of these funds are tightly managed by members of the Clubs Executive Committee. Donations will be used to provide security during these uncertain times and to further improve the quality and equipment of the Club.
Training for senior ladies rugby is on Mondays alongside the Wildcats, our girls youth section, and Thursdays with matches played on Sunday afternoons and the mens sessions are on Tuesday and Thursday evening with matches played on a Saturday afternoon. Youth teams train on a Wednesday or Thursday evenings and play on a Sunday when the mini age groups also train and play.
As an amateur but ambitious community club Westcliff strive to offer and deliver senior rugby for players of all abilities whilst maintaining strong community links and upholding and promoting the games core values. The development and progression of players through our youth system is the bedrock of our senior set up and has allowed the club in recent years to establish itself as the foremost club in the county.
